The Ukrainian side only announced the casualties of the Russian army. The casualty is generally accurate from a long tracking period. Likewise, Russia only occasionally publishes Ukrainian military losses. Russia is rare but does not fail to announce its own casualties.

As a result, it is a big problem to objectively obtain the casualty figures on the Ukrainian battlefield, which often requires the objective situation and data of a third party.

Recently, the French news website “Atalayar” reported that Bakhmut was the worst place in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and as many as 400 Ukrainian soldiers were killed there every day.

Bakhmut is currently under Ukrainian control, but Russian artillery has been deployed close enough to open fire on the city, the report said. The Ukrainian army must defend strongholds and deploy a large number of infantry, light troops, and paramilitary units. They are powerless to artillery fire, bombs, and other long-range attacks.

“This front has become a real meat grinder.”
